Heroes Spoilers 'n Clues: "Company Man" Episode Summary

As we all knew, this episode focused on H.R.G., Claire, how they got together, and who in the world H.R.G. really is. H.R.G. ever ambiguous to the end. Anyone disappointed? Nobody here!

This is the Heroes TV Show Spoilers blog episode clues summary of the interesting twists and turns for Season 1, Episode 17 of Heroes, "Company Man" - on NBC.

("Comfortable with morally grey" H.R.G.
and invisible Claude, his sidekick)

Shout out thanks to sduncan from Heroes TV Show Spoilers blog for some great tips. See the comments from over the weekend.

How about those Hiro Heroes spoilers? Turns out that Sulu aka George Takai aka Mr. Nakamura Hiro’s billionaire dad knows all about Hiro’s quest. Exactly whether he disapproves or approves of it is unknown at this moment. Hiro meets baby Claire. They have a connection. If anyone ever finds out that Claire has manifested superhero Heroes powers, H.R.G. must “turn her in” to Mr. Nakamura. Now we know H.R.G., the company man, really has been protecting Claire and his family all along. Ever ambiguous, H.R.G. he has done it by killing, mind-erasing, and in the end, deceiving his own ambiguously evil superiors.

Now for the Heroes TV Show Spoilers blog comic interlude, with some Mr. Muggles Heroes spoilers clues [revised]: How did Ted Sprague, the radioactive guy know Mr. Muggles’ the pet dog's name? Based on the comments, it looks like Ted has really good radioactive eyes. Nevertheless, awfully friendly for a radioctive man breaking and entering, and the "watch" dog who never had met him. Hmmmmm. Claire said, Mr. Muggles has a power, playing dead. Mr. Muggles is saved from the radiation not showing a single burn. There is more to come on Mr. Muggles, after all, nobody rememebered to wipe his memories. :)

Ok end of Heroes TV Show Spoilers blog comic interlude.

H.R.G. turns out to be a company man, as in Primatech Paper of PrimatechPaper.com fame. A front company for the Heroes tracking program. Another company, aka Mr. Nakamura’s conglomerate is the controlling shareholder so to speak. H.R.G. has been following orders his whole life, having no problem with “morally grey”. However his midlife crisis catches up this week at the hands of the radioactive Ted and Matt Parkman team on one side, H.R.G.'s boss portrayed by Eric Roberts on another side, and the Haitian, apparently playing all sides.

How about the Claude & H.R.G. Heroes story: Talk about ambiguity. H.R.G. shoots Claude. First shot looked like a mistake. The rest were not. Claude had been hiding someone with Heroes super powers, the greatest offense. Who was it? Well, who can save you when you are falling off a bridge after being shot? More to come.

Ironically, H.R.G. winds up doing exactly what Claude did by hiding Claire.

Hana Heroes spoilers: Hmmm, where was Hana? Hana set up the whole operation – tracking down H.R.G. to get answers. One theory is that Hana was there at the end at Primatech Paper, but and based on overwhelming comment, we'll go with uh uh, the Israeli Mossad superhero Heroes spy is on the side of good, still.

Isaac’s building Heroes spoilers: Scene 1, Mr. Nakamura meets with H.R.G. and hands over baby Claire with Heroes’ Hiro playing video games in the background. This roof was very familiar. The roof of Isaac’s building. Also, the same roof where invisible Claude hid out raising pigeons, for years. Also the same roof where H.R.G. and the Haitian tracked down Claude, and Claude flew, for the second time, this time with Peter Petrelli’s aid.

Haitian Heroes Spoilers: We do not know yet who the Haitian is reporting to. We do know that next episode introduces Linderman.

Wasn’t it sad when H.R.G. submitted to the mind wipe? It was on the exact same bridge where he shot invisible Claude 15 years earlier.

Claire and the Haitian now are on the run together. H.R.G. thinks the Haitian will keep her safe.

Some Matt Heroes spoilers clues: More and more Matt is getting clued in. He uses his mind reading superheroes Heroes power quite admirably, for the first time. Matt now is becoming a real fan favorite. He actually hatches the plan to reel in out-of-control Ted during the hostage drama, using his mind reading. Cool. Claire and H.R.G. team up to persuade Matt to shoot Claire. He does, she heals, and Ted cools down, temporarily. Unfortunately for Matt, he now is in with a bad crowd it seems, since he is tied down in the super-secret underground Primatech Paper laboratory.

Heroes Spoilers: Company Man, Season 1, Episode 17

This is the Heroes spoilers blog for "Company Man", the next episode of Heroes, season 1, Episode 17. The "Company" in the title does not refer to Primatech Paper of PrimatechPaper.com fame. Oops almost forgot the standard disclaimer ... watch out spoilers ahead blah blah blah.

Heroes "Company Man", what a great title for this episode. The Heroes spoilers are on ever ambiguous H.R.G. Who is he? Where is he from? Why is he teamed up with a super hero the "Haitian"? Where did he get indestructible Claire?

Easy, we get answers to all these questions. H.R.G. it seems is part of a different "company", the implication being he's with the CIA. We do not know if he has been duped though. (It would be ironic if H.R.G.'s life has been a complete lie, to himself as well as his family?) You be the judge from this Heroes spoilers clip:

Pure speculation here, but maybe elements of the government decided they need to track the Heroes with superpowers, to track the threat, but not resort to assassinations. So the Heroes, like the "Haitian" may have agreed to cooperate, and team up. Pure speculation though, not spoilers. But are spoilers speculation? ... Only the blogger knows for sure ;)

As we already know from the previews, the H-M-T team (Heroes heroes Hana, Matt, Ted) go to confront H.R.G. They arrive at the H.R.G. manse before anyone arrives and start rifling the papers for information as shown in this recently released Heroes spoilers preview clip:

It turns out H.R.G. dissembles and stonewalls under interrogation. So, they decide that Matt will accompany H.R.G. to the paper factory of Primatech Paper (spy agency front operation?) and H.R.G. promises answers there. To keep his good faith unstable Ted will hold poor Mrs. Bennett hostage. We already know H.R.G. treated his family callously, so this will show us whether he has any honor:

Here is the official Heroes spoilers press release from NBC. Like all spoilers, we take these at the Heroes Spoilers blog with a grain of salt:

TAKEN HOSTAGE BY RADIOACTIVE TED SPRAGUE AND MATT, H.R.G.’S HIDDEN PAST IS REVEALED AND NOTHING WILL EVER BE THE SAME FOR CLAIRE

Claire is pitted against H.R.G. because she knows part of his secrets.

H.R.G.’s (Jack Coleman) past catches up to him as Matt (Greg Grunberg) and Ted Sprague (guest star Matthew John Armstrong), come to Texas looking for answers, and take him, his wife, son and Claire (Hayden Panettiere) hostage — leading to a tragic, explosive showdown. Secrets are revealed and new threats to the “heroes” are introduced.

Enjoy...

Heroes Spoilers Clues: "Unexpected" Episode Summary

(Matt Getting Clued In By Hana)

Who does H.R.G. (Mr. Bennett) work for? That's the question asked at the end of Unexpected. The answer will come next week, in Heroes Season 1, Episode 17 - "Company Man", as Claire, Hana, Matt and Ted team up to get some answers out of H.R.G.

This is the Heroes TV Show Spoilers blog episode clues summary of the interesting twists and turns for Season 1, Episode 16 of Heroes, Unexpected.

Blockbuster quote: "Life isn't a comic book" - Hiro sends Ando home to Japan.

With Heroes, we come to expect the unexpected, and with this episode, Unexpected was expected, and we got what was expected. Whew! This was the last episode in the February ratings sweeps period and Heroes did not disappoint. Someone died and someone flied ...

As Heroes TV Show Spoilers blog readers expected in Unexpected, radioactive Ted teamed up with Israeli super spy, wireless Hana. This gave Ted a new faith and attitude on life. Ted was outright depressed after his wife died of radiation poisoning. So a hideaway in the middle of the Nevada desert seemed pretty attractive to him. His unexpected visitor for Heroes Unexpected was of course Hana, with her wireless superpower. Hana gave him the gift of life ... a will to live, with the purpose to track down H.R.G. and his crew. Ted still inadvertently kills all the grass around his deceased wife’s grave.

Hana and Ted then took their act on the road and their first beneficiary was Matt the mind reader, who got clued in, finally. They form the H-M-T team.

Fortunately Ted calls Matt in the Nick of time - just as Matt's lovely glowing wife Janice talked him into calling the police to turn himself in. Imagine it, Janice just wants Matt to be a good father to her baby. So, she develops a great plan (not). Matt will walk in to the police precinct, with $1 million in stolen diamonds as she demanded. Uh ... they really are a good couple with a lot in common ... think about it. Fortunately, Ted and Hana have great timing. Plan aborted...

H.R.G. has been tagging the Heroes he kidnaps with a radioactive tracking isotope. With Hana in the lead, the H-M-T team have a plan, and track down H.R.G. at home. In the end, they will get some dissembling and some answers next week, in "Company Man", season 1, episode 17.

In an almost scary teaming up of the clueless, Mohinder actually gets the phone number for Matt and calls him. Fortunately Hana gets to Matt first. However, Mohinder does lead Sylar to Dale - who has the short-lived super hearing superpower. When her back is turned, he levitates and … yummy brain … Sylar now has super hearing. ... and a major headache ... super hearing = super headache.

Oh, and Mohinder also confides his biggest secret to Sylar, who he still thinks is Zane: "My father was murdered by a man named Sylar".

One aspect of Heroes' creative greatness is giving credit to the givers of inspiration, such as Lost and X-Men.

Lost Heroes spoilers: Did you notice Nathan’s reference to the Island in the middle of the ocean where they would study people with superpowers. That’s what he said to Simone. And, Mohinder’s hotel room was 23, a very significant room in Lost – the “brainwashing” room.

X-Men Heroes Spoilers: Stan Lee, creator of Spiderman, X-Men and the Fantastic Four and retired Chairman of Marvel Comics, was the bus driver.

Someone Flies Heroes spoilers: That would be Peter Petrelli the power sponge. Finally finally he used brother Nathan’s flying power, and he used it to save Claude. H.R.G. and the mind erasing “Haitian” superhero track them using infra-red scopes. The invisibility superpower does not cloak your heat signature. Claude has been hiding out for 15 years and Peter led H.R.G. straight to him. H.R.G. thought Claude was dead ... because he killed him once before of course. Now Claude will be on the run alone again. Like Hiro, operating alone.

On the Claire home front, her mother, Sandra (Mrs.) Bennett has a brain hemorrhage - right in the memory center that the “Haitian” has been erasing. H.R.G., ever ambiguous, rushes home to Sandra and Claire, rather than continuing his hunt for Claude. Claire confronts H.R.G. at the hospital, and he gives the runner-up line: “Just protecting my family”. We do not yet know if H.R.G. is being fully truthful. The spoiler is, uh uh. There’s more :).

Back to Hiro our comic Heroes hero, in another unexpected pairing, he teams up with Gustafson, Hope’s double-crossed partner-in-crime (“You take me with you or the girl gets away, pal”). Hiro and Gustafson bad guy catch up with Ando and Hope, and Ando gets shot.

Finally Hiro’s light bulb goes back on and he reverses Hope's next gunshot and he time shifts Ando to safety. Hiro also realizes the lovelorn Ando no longer is an asset to his mission, so the comedic duo now has been split. Hiro sends Ando home. Life is not a comic book. The Heroes TV Show spoilers are: Ando will be back for sure. Hiro’s controlling dad will insist on that. His son cannot be all alone in danger in America, and Ando is the only person he trusts with his mission.

Who dies? Simone. Peter confronts Isaac the future painter about leading H.R.G. to him. Isaac pulls the trigger and shoots, and down goes Simone. R.I.P.

The Heroes spoilers for next week in Season 1, Episode 17: We learn more about Claire’s origins, and who H.R.G. really works for. More on these Heroes spoilers soon.

Unexpected - Heroes Spoilers - Season 1, Episode 16

This is the Heroes spoilers blog for the next episode of Heroes - Season 1, Episode 16 - "Unexpected". We can have fun with the title, so let's go. Oh standard disclaimer ... watch out spoilers ahead blah blah blah so if you want to remain in suspense until the broadcast, stop reading now ...

A couple of weeks ago we broke the spoilers on Hana Gitelman the new Israeli Mossad super spy, with a super Heroes power. Finally in Heroes Unexpected Hana makes her unexpected debut. She can run electronic devices with her mind. She is introduced via a wireless communication with Ted Sprague in the middle of a Nevada nuclear test range - as seen in one of the PR clips below. The spoilers-y catch is that Ted doesn't have an Internet connection! No problem, Hana the wireless Heroes hero brings her own, and it is not a Blackberry.

There are some Matt Heroes spoilers too. Wireless Hana and Ted team up and go searching for other Heroes superheroes to team up with, much like clueless Mohinder. They find Matt and persuade him to join their club. Hopefully they will pursue their goal with a lot of street-smart intelligence. With an Israeli super spy like Hana on their team, maybe they have it.

Talking about Mohinder, he remains in grave danger, and incredibly is leading Sylar around to find all the other Heroes. Will Mohinder ever get a clue? Yes he will, but not in Unexpected unless something seriously spoilers - y happens and he does.

Claire bonds with her adoptive mother Mrs. Bennett and tries to explain that her memories are being stolen. Doesn't work.

Rusty Schimmer makes her Heroes debut as the woman with super hearing super powers. Previously we posted her spoilers clip. She could hear Sylar's hear beating. Wonder if she also could hear him salivating over her brain. You can find that one in the Unexpected Previews post, along with two trailers.

Nathan Spoilers: Nathan the congressman wannabe meets up with Jessica, Linderman's assassin - again. Remember, they have a special "connection".

Here is the official NBC TV press release for the Unexpected episode. Some spoilers in there.

Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) painfully learns that someone close may have betrayed him and Claude (guest star Christopher Eccleston).

Sylar can sense the Heroes and can sense Peter. Also Nathan, Isaac and half the world are searching for and connected with Peter. Plus Claude (aka Dr. Who) the invisible guy is on the run from something, and Peter's presence endangers him.

Matt’s (Greg Grunberg) world spirals out of control when radioactive man Ted Sprague (guest star Matthew John Armstrong) and Hana Gitelman (guest star Stana Katic), a fierce young woman with “wireless” mental abilities, drop into his life.

Spoilers clip below.

After blood is spilled, Hiro (Golden Globe nominee Masi Oka) makes a difficult decision about his mission. Claire (Hayden Panettiere) is unable to contain her anger at her father (Jack Coleman).

As is becoming a weekly tradition, Heroes spoilers clips are making their way on the Internet for the next episode on the Heroes schedule. In this case the Heroes spoilers clips are for "Unexpected", which is Heroes Chapter 16 (Season 1, Episode 16).

  • Here is the Hana meets Ted spoilers clip:

  • Perpetually clueless Mohinder tells Sylar how his father was murdered by a man named Sylar.

  • Ted Sprague and wireless Mossad agent Hana meet Matt and discuss H.R.G.'s implantation of tracking devices in the heroes' necks.

    Hana Gitelman: Heroes New SuperHero

Heroes is set to unveil the newest superhero: the unlikely Hana Gitelman, shown in the publicity photo. Hana was a superhero, even before she developed any superpower - a first. She was a member of the Israeli Mossad, Israel's equivalent of the CIA. As a secret agent Hana hunted down terrorists from Gaza to Iran, all without superpowers. Now Hana has the power to receive and send e-mails, but without a Blackberry. She also can receive other types of electronic communications and control computers all with her mind. Pretty neat.

There are some spoilers in Hana's backstory, not yet broadcast. Hana was captured by H.R.G. like the other heroes, and she is determined to figure out his plans. She has already tracked down Ted Sprague, the Heroes radioactive guy. He received her email even though his Nevada desert hideout has no electricity. Hana has a dark side that she needs to learn to live with. There is a sneak peak of Hana and Ted here.

Heroes' Hana Gitelman is played by Stana Katic, who last appeared as Collette Stenger in Season 5 of 24 on Fox.

    Heroes Spoiler Season

From the teaser trailer and some other super secret hidden sources maybe, we've now isolated a few more spoilers.

Niki, half of the the dual personality with Jessica, is informed by her lawyer or someone really official looking that the prosecution is going for the death penalty. It is not clear whether it is her, her disappearing husband D.L., or Ted the radioactive guy who they want offed. The last we see of Niki in the ad is an injection and her lying face down in a padded mental hospital room.

Most chilling is Mohinder saying to Nathan the congressman that his brother Peter is the most important person on the entire list. Peter the power sponge is the key, as we have said before.

Claire's increasingly less creepy dad H.R.G. (horn rimmed glasses) joins with Mohinder to form an alliance. As seen in the publicity photo at left, H.R.G. says, here's my card, let's do lunch. We do not know if Mohinder is being used now, since we still have not learned who H.R.G.'s puppet master is. After all, it is no coincidence that indestructible Claire wound up being "adopted" by H.R.G.

Hiro has a naively presented interaction with Nathan, where Nathan cannot get his accent. This carries the theme of bringing Nathan into acceptance of his super flying power.

    Matt and Claire Spoilers

The Heroes spoilers are rolling in to Heroes TV Show Spoilers central now that we are getting some buzz.

Buzz? Like a cute bumble bee buzz?

Not what we had in mind, but that buzz is for another day…stay tuned.

As for the spoilers, they will keep rolling out of the inner sanctum to hype the January 22 mid-season Heroes premiere. As soon as we fully interrogate and vet each spoiler we will post them here ... keep checking. After all we need to maintain our track record of 100% accuracy. Seriously, not, our hit rate is not looking around 99.9%. How’s that for innovative grammar ? ;)

Without further introduction, here are the new spoilers:

If she had not yet figured it out, Matt's wife finally gets clued in as he confirms all her suspicions that there is something going on in his head. More correctly in her head since it's Matt who is there reading her mind at will. All those secrets she has really are not. She’s been bad and he knows it but also has guilt.

Claire, daughter of HRG (Mr. Horn-Rimmed-Glasses), of course spends some real quality time with the mind erasing "Haitian" superhero. Finally she blurts out she wants to meet Peter Petrelli. Why is that? Well Peter the power sponge is the key, and Claire needs to save the world. As loyal readers of the Heroes TV Show Spoilers blog already know, "Save the cheerleader .. Save the world" means a lot more than just saving Claire’s life. It means saving her Heroes memories. HER superpowers are needed to help save the world – and she needs to be kept safe from rampaging Sylar on the loose. Getting close to power sponge Peter Petrelli is a key, so he can use her healing powers, and at the necessary time Ted the radioactive guy's radiation. And Voila, world is saved! Or maybe destroyed if the dream is really what it seemed to be – which we doubt.

    Heroes Season 1 Spoilers

    General Heroes Spoilers
    Not Episode-Specific

Here are some general Heroes Season 1 spoilers that I've identified for the remainder of the season. In the coming weeks I'll be expanding these Heroes spoilers a lot as we gather more information.

The bare bones of the spoilers are laid out by Tim Kring in an interview. If you haven't noticed he's the guy who pops up on the title card of Heroes as the creator. So he probably has a pretty good crystal ball. On the other hand, laying out some misdirection may help with PR, so take these spoilers with a grain of salt. Also, as a creator associated with the show, he had to be pretty vague, but we have been able to fill in some of the blanks.

Claire will go through the season pretending to her father H.R.G that she does not remember her superpowers. In reality she does remember them and this leads to a pretty tense home-life for her, until she leaves eventually to help with saving the world. As we said before, "Save the Cheerleader" meant not only to save her life, but also to save Claire's memories.

One theme of the remainder of the season will be “Are you on the List?”. NBC was running "List" promos during the New Year's Day football games. This refers to the list now possessed by Mohinder, but assembled by his father the obsessed Indian professor. I'm wondering if this will last as the theme of the remainder Season 1 of Heroes, or whether a new slogan will be rolled out later. Not the compelling punch that “Save the Cheerleader ... Save the world” had. Nevertheless, Mohinder’s continuing pursuit of the superheroes on the List will be a recurring theme of his mission to assist them, putting his own life in grave danger.

And yes, Mohinder gets converted into a full-fledged member of the Heroes gang. Not necessarily with superpowers, but aiding them.

The samurai sword is another Heroes spoiler. We know Hiro the Hero winds up as a modern day samurai warrior, but how does he do that. We will find out in a few episodes as Hiro tracks down the meaningful weapon in his quest for the sword.

Christopher Eccleston (aka Dr. Who) will play a character who becomes the Yoda to Peter’s Luke Skywalker.

Ted Sprague, the radioactive guy, will reappear soon. We knew he had to because his radioactive power absorbed by power sponge Peter seems to be a cause of the explosion in the dream sequence cliffhanger.

Terrorism: Thankfully the show’s creators have had the good sense not to pursue this as the theme of the explosion in New York. That would have torpedoed the show’s popularity faster than you can say Osama Bin Laden. Instead, the focus has to do with Ted the radioactive guy. This may be an unsubstantiated rumor as we have not been able to verify it yet.
