Heroes Clues and Spoilers: Season Finale, "How To Stop an Exploding Man"

This is the Heroes Spoilers clues blog for the season finale of Heroes on ABC. Heroes TV, the unexpected hit of 2006 - 2007, now has travelled its full arc and has set the stage with the first minutes of Heroes Season 2 - "Generations". More on Heroes Season 2 spoilers and the Heroes Schedule in the coming weeks. We have plenty of time for that ... but now, let's talk about Season 1, Episode 23, the Season 1 finale of Heroes on NBC TV - "How To Stop An Exploding Man".

(Mission accomplished)

Wasn't that a great episode? Readers of this blog already knew a lot in advance from the earlier Heroes spoilers posts, after all this is a spoilers blog, but let's talk about what we learned, some spoilers for the future, and some of the great quotes of the day.

How about this one from H.R.G.:
"Call me Noah." - H.R.G., Noah Bennett to Peter Petrelli, finally partners.
H.R.G. - Mr. Bennett, Claire's adoptive father, has a name, and it is Noah Bennett. His first name has become a cult speculation throughout Season 1. As promised, Tim Kring and the producers tied up the loose threads, this one included. Personally I do not know if Noah fits that well, but he will be in future episodes and it will grow. Who is Noah? In one definition he is someone who is wise and long lived, or in the bible, the prophet who saved all the living creatures from the apocalyptic flood. Like biblical Noah, H.R.G. ... er... Noah Bennett, was in the future saving some of the Heroes super - heroes.

Heroes Spoilers, Heroes Clues, Heroes Season 1
Meet Noah Bennett

"You saved the Cheerleader, so WE could save the world" - The super-Heroes brothers Petrelli, Nathan to Peter before launch.

Nathan Heroes Spoilers clues: Ambiguous Nathan was rehabilitated in the end. Last week, he was the uncaring plastic political candidate, whispering doom in Hiro the time-traveller's ear. In the garage in "How To Stop An Exploding Man", he rejects Peter's pleas for help. Yet it was Claire's plea that finally penetrated his soul. Nothing is written in stone he concludes.

Nathan finally gives Peter a helping hand

In the climactic showdown with Sylar, Nathan follows his destiny ... to save the world, just as Linderman and his mother mamma Angela Petrelli expected. Only Nathan did not do it in the way they expected. Instead, with Sylar down, and his daughter Claire about to murder her uncle, Nathan swoops in. His brother, Peter saved the cheerleader once. If Claire pulled the trigger, she would have had it on her conscience forever, unable to lead a normal life - if one is possible for a super Heroes hero healer. So Nathan finally acts like a father and saves her, sacrificing his own life, and saving the world. (Screencap courtesy Heroes the series)

Angela Petrelli, mother of Peter and Nathan, predicts to Charles Deveaux that Peter would survive. The Heroes spoilers are ... Peter is indestructible, and Nathan lives ... maybe :) One theory is that Nathan tosses Peter, Peter explodes and survives (as Angela Petrelli predicts), and Nathan was far away. Another theory is ka-boom, the end. The biggest controversy coming out of the Heroes season finale is why Peter does not just fly by himself, rather than requiring Nathan to do it for him. The Heroes spoilers answer: Pending contract renewal... :)

The Heroes spoilers preview clip of Volume Two - Generations, was the last minutes of the season finale - i.e. Heroes Season 2, Episode 1. After defeating the villain, Hiro pops to the past landing, literally, in the middle Shogun era Japan – chased by samurai warriors, the Heroes helix on the banner of the opposing side. Heroes spoilers eclipse and fade to black.

Molly and Micah Spoilers: Don't Molly and Micah make a cute kid couple? M&M ... It was kiddie love once Micah called the broken elevator. Now Heroes has lovable kids for season two. Clueless Mohinder thinks they are in the clear, but now, lovable Molly spoils that with "He's here". The setup of the season two villain also was Molly's... When I look for him, he sees me ...

More Molly spoilers: Molly is a little creepy, like a cross between Sixth Sense ("I see dead people" ... Molly: "He sees me") and Poltergeist ("They're here" ... Molly: "He's here", referring to Sylar's arrival in Kirby Plaza). Expect Molly to have some ambiguity in Season 2, Generations.

Charles Deveaux, the father of Simone, and the builder of the Deveaux building is like Obi Wan Kenobi - coming to Peter from the grave. He can see invisible people ... at least in their dreams, and the Heroes spoilers - he can see Molly. ... not really.

Hiro the Heroes spoilers clues: Hiro also redeems himself. Not only by carrying out destiny and killing Sylar, but also in two other ways. One, he stands up to his father, George Takai, but with respect, finally learning that to carry out his destiny he needs to understand his own inner strength. So first, he saves Ando, in style. Learning he can move more quickly than Sylar. With Ando saved, and safe back in Tokyo, Japan, Hiro leaves his Kensei samurai sword with Ando, promising to return for it and Ando. He takes Ando's discount sword, teleports to Kirby Plaza New York for the final showdown with Sylar.

Cliffhangers for Heroes season 2:
  • Who is the villain, worse than Sylar?

  • Does Officer Matt the mindreader Parkman die? Lovable but a little creepy Molly needs him. She can't be left alone with Mohinder.

  • Did Sylar really die or is he now a super-bad cockaroach?

  • Who is the blue samurai? Kaito Nakamura, Hiro's dad? Kensei, of legends? Someone who trains Hiro?

Heroes Spoilers: Season 1 Finale Spoilers - How To Stop An Exploding Man

This is the Heroes TV Show Spoilers blog for the season finale of Heroes on NBC TV. The final episode of the rousing season 1 is entitled "How To Stop An Exploding Man", making it episode 23 of season 1. And now, for our final season 1 disclaimer, blah, blah, blah, as usual, blah, blah, blah, spoilers ahead, so if you do not want to know the future of NBC Heroes, stop reading now...

Heroes Spoilers, season finale

(DL Lives ... One happy family)

First, here are some Heroes Season 2 schedule spoilers... NBC is planning an astounding 30 episodes for season 2, up from the usual 23 hours of programming for a typical series. The 30 Heroes season 2 episodes include about 22 regular episodes and 8 character development episodes, which are set to try out new Heroes for inclusion in the Heroes mythology started in series 1 this season.

Now for Peter the exploding man, or is it Sylar, or neither? Promo photos for the past few weeks have featured the big red statue. The Heroes spoilers are that this is at least a part of the big red mass in Nathan’s paintings. The promo photos also are really big on Peter in the exploding man pose – arms extended with quizzical look on his face, as if saying, I’m an exploding man, how do I stop myself!

Heroes Spoilers, Season Finale
(Nathan, Big Red, and Peter's pose)

Peter, from another angle:

(How do I stop myself?)

From one of the Heroes spoilers clips:

Heroes Sylar, Peter in season finale
(Sylar, Peter, Big Red ... Boom)

And...
Peter, How To Stop An Exploding Man, Season 1, Episode 23
(Come on Nathan, give your brother a hand)

The last 5 minutes of the season 1 finale will also be the first 5 minutes of Season 2. This means one of the cliffhangers will be the start of season 2, episode 1, or will set the stage for it. Here are a couple of candidates for finale cliffhangers. There will be others too.

(You can run, but not hide ... from destiny)

One is Hiro in the Shogun era. Several months ago we wrote on the Heroes spoilers painting in stashed away in Linderman’s secret art collection in the Corinthian Las Vegas Hotel (CorinthianLasVegas.com). The painting shown below is of the original owner of Hiro’s magic samurai sword, Takezo Kinsei. This is the same Kinsei of legends Hiro learned when he was young, as he discussed with his father Kaito Nakamura (Sulu - George Takai) in his samurai training session of Landslide - Ep. 22. If as it seems Hiro winds up back in Shogun era Japan, being chased by warriors it confirms speculation that Hiro actually has lived in the past, and was Takezo Kinsei himself.

(Tazezo Kinsei ... Hero or Hiro?)

Notice the warrior’s little beard, just like future Hiro’s. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Molly Heroes Spoilers: Another cliffhanger for the season finale involves Lovable Heroes "tracking system" Molly Walker. Molly winds up with Matt the mind reader, an interesting twist - the tracker has her mind read. She gives a creepy vision into the future. There is one Heroes super – Hero she fears even more than Sylar, the bogeyman who murdered her parents. And why is he so scary? He can see Molly. Here’s Molly in How To Stop An Exploding Man:

The preview Heroes spoilers clip was broadcast after episode 22, and in it Angela promises the inevitability of the bomb going off, and features a half-second teaser of the meeting of Sylar and Peter in the square, in front of the exploding red sculpture:

The long Heroes Spoilers clip below is floating around the Internet. It depicts three scenes from the season 1 finale. In the first clip, ambiguous Angela, mama Petrelli (evil or good?) confirms Linderman is dead, "murdered" as she says. She then lays the bombshell, namely confirming she has been in cahoots with Linderman all along – The plan was not just Linderman’s, she says. So Angela gives Nathan spine, putting her hands on his back and urging him to go forward with the plan and take over the world once the bomb goes off. She treats the explosion as inevitable. The second clip has H.R.G. and Peter Hereos spoilers: H.R.G., Claire the cheerleader’s no longer ambiguous dad, calls Peter. H.R.G. asks Peter to help stop Sylar, while they fix the “tracking system”, i.e. Molly. Interestingly, H.R.G. does not reveal to Peter that the “tracking system” is human. In the third clip, Peter goes to meet his flying ambitious brother Nathan, Claire in tow. Claire already knows Nathan is uncaring, so why should he care about the impending mass deaths? She decides Peter has lied to her, and Peter, using the mind reading ability he absorbed from Matt hears it loud and clear.

DL Heroes Spoilers: In a now week old Heroes spoiler, DL lives. How? The handful of Linderman’s brain, has healing powers and he survived the gunshot, but still is not really all that much better. The NBC promo photo showing DL alive is at the top of this article. DL is there with Jessica/Nikki - the dual personality assassin, Molly - the Heroes finder, and Micah - the election stealing kid.

(Really needs psychotherapy)

Hiro Spoilers: Saving the best for last ... in the end, the Hiro Heroes spoilers are, the wayward samurai warrior makes it to the square of destiny in front of the Big Red sculpture, Daddy Sulu’s sword in hand, carrying out the prophesy of Nathan the future painter.

(Get the point, Sylar ... again)

Enjoy!

Heroes Clues and Spoilers: "Landslide", Chapter 22

This is the Heroes Spoilers clues blog for the second to final episode of Heroes Season 1. It was quite a roll for Heroes. Its opening season and a huge hit for NBC TV. The season has been building, from character introductions, discovery and now convergence for the final battle in New York, like a disturbing reprise of 9/11. The battle has begun, with the grand finale in one week, with "How To Stop An Exploding Man", Heroes season 1, episode 23.

Sulu - Training Hiro to become a Hero

In Landslide it is no spoiler that flying Heroes anti-hero Nathan Petrelli, the man who sold out to Linderman, wins the election by, of course, a "Landslide" ... From 36% to 64% in a matter of seconds - courtesy of Micah the magic vote rigging kid.

Best Heroes Quote:
Didn't I throw you out a window?
- Jessica / Nikki to Matt The Mindreader.

Notice how Linderman just does not get it? Before he lost his head, literally, he thought there was nothing that motivated a mother more than money. Tsk tsk. Forgot about protecting your babies – child and husband. On top of that blood is thicker than water ... Jessica, the greedy bad half of the Jessica/Nikki dual personality, simply cannot kill her good sister's (Nikki's) family. So, D.L. redeems himself in almost death, and takes Linderman’s bullet for Jessica/Nikki. ... So sad. D.L. lives to fight another day.

The irony is that Linderman had set in motion the events leading to the cataclysm in New York, yet he will not live to see it. Linderman thought he would be able to “heal”, meaning dominate, the world using Nathan as his tool. Turns out more powerful events have lead to his own death, and to Sylar taking over.

The key to the season finale of course will be stopping Sylar, as we have known all along.

Landslide ends with Sylar lording over New York atop the tower, uttering a controlled “boom”. No Linderman in sight to “heal”. So, the stage is set - either the bleak future owned by Sylar is realized, or Sylar is stopped. We will know the answer next week and the Heroes Spoilers are that there will be a lot of mayhem and destruction, but Sylar never becomes President.

Molly the Heroes locator returned in this episode, and stole the show. Mohinder now has restored her power, only to learn that Thompson (Eric Roberts) had no interest in her ability to locate and stop Sylar. After all, Thompson's and Linderman's plan is that Sylar will cause the explosion. No need to stop him. So, yet again, Mohinder is clueless, and ironically, he knocks out Matt, who also tends towards cluelessness. The Heroes spoilers are that Mohinder, Matt and H.R.G. team up to help Molly escape.

Heroes Spoilers: Landslide, Season 1, Episode 22

This is the Heroes Spoilers blog for episode 22 of Heroes season 1 on NBC TV. The Heroes schedule is winding down to the grand season finale, as the superheroes continue converging on New York, one week before the explosion, and not coincidentally, also one week before the season-ending episode. As usual, Heroes spoilers ahead, so stop reading now if you do not want to know the future of Heroes, blah ... blah ... blah ...

Heroes TV Show Spoilers - Nakamura-Hiro spoilers

As we put in the Heroes Spoilers clues post for "The Hard Part", all is not lost for Hiro. After all, he still has the Force behind him, ... no ... wrong movie ... he has Star Trek's Sulu, George Takai, playing Kaito Nakamura, Hiro's billionaire Dad. Hiro is stunned to learn that his father is a Heroes superhero also. Not only that, but he has the real super samurai sword, and now is the time for Hiro to learn how to use it. Hiro's trek in America has proven his worth to his father, so Sulu starts training Hiro to be a samurai, like Obi Wan trains Luke Skywalker. See one of the Heroes Spoilers clips below.

Nathan and Peter Spoilers: Their mother Petrelli plays a big role in this episode, and we learn their father's super power.

Nathan, Linderman and Micah Spoilers: As we expected a while ago, Linderman persuades Micah to control the voting machines to help Nathan win the election. The polls have Nathan trailing, but although correct are made to seem incorrect by Micah's intervention. Nathan wins in a Landslide, hence the name of the episode - Landslide. With the Heroes heroes all gathered in New York, and Nathan victorious, the scene is set for the final battle, which begins at the episode end, and concludes with the season finale, "How to Stop an Exploding Man".

The U.S. official NBC Heroes Spoilers preview clip for the Landslide episode is different from the Canadian. Here is the U.S. preview:

Here is the Canadian Heroes preview, which starts out with the traditional balloon drop following Nathan's landslide election victory:

There are Heroes spoilers sneak peaks floating around the Internet for this episode, and here is a good one. In the first clip, H.R.G. and Claire discuss family matters - he wants to destroy the Primatech Paper tracking system, so he and Claire can lead a "normal life". The second clip has Nathan pre-election talking to his staff about a post-election announcement. Hiro runs up with Ando, trying to get Nathan to help stop the bomb. Even though Hiro reveals to Nathan that he has a bad future, Nathan declines to help - "I can't stop it, Nobody can ... Pleasure to see you. Thanks for your support". Hiro realizes Nathan already is a villain. In the final clip, Linderman reveals to Nathan that his father had a "power", but gave up trying to help the world, Linderman says, "your father was weak". Nathan, "My father was my Hero."

NBC has released its official pre-broadcast press release, with a few reveals:

Poised to become a member of Congress and maybe more, Nathan considers the cost to those he loves, along with his mother's (guest star Cristine Rose) advice and Linderman's (guest star Malcolm McDowell, "Entourage,""A Clockwork Orange") prophecy. As he prepares to face Sylar (guest star Zachary Quinto) to the death, Hiro learns of his lineage from his father (guest star George Takei, "Star Trek").

Hiro learns that his father has powers, and has been watching Hiro's development, judging whether Hiro is prepared to accept the burden of the family secrets.

While various "heroes" fatefully arrive in New York City, Peter and Ted attempt to leave the city before the foretold explosion. H.R.G. and Matt learn the surprising truth behind the tracking system used on people with special abilities.

Peter and Ted think that if they can leave New York, the explosion will be averted. The spoiler is, of course they do not leave. That would be too easy to be the dramatic solution.
